Jack Grimes writes:
This keyboard is great for someone who's getting his first workstation, or someone who's been in the business for many years. The N364 has a very nice set of Programs and Combinations that never seem to let you down. I was a little disappointed that it only had a 32,000 event sequencer memory, and the display is so small. And what idiot decided that the disk drive should be on the side of the instrument instead of in front like all of the other workstations? I was further disappointed in the absence of a PCM Card Slot (to replace that plastic piano sample). On the lighter side, the N's offer backwards compatibility with the X2, X3, and X3R Workstations, so It's easy to find lots of Programs, Combinations and Sequences out there on the web. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that Sequences are stored not only on disk, but also backed in non-volatile RAM, so you don't have to continually use the disk drive to load in performance data. The file system works great, and the keyboard is very easy to learn. In only a week, I had mastered most functions of the unit. I do think that this workstation fits in with some of the best around.

Comments About the Sounds:
The Piano is disgustingly plastic - sounding, but that's expected from a Korg Synth, nowadays, but it's not too bad sounding (It may not be realistic, but it's pretty). I'm glad to see some 01/W samples resurrected. The woodwinds are very nice, the strings are excellent. The "Full Pipes" sound is excellent, but most other organ sounds are disappointing. The String Section sounds are among the best I've ever heard (I think they beat the Trinity out).

(Thanks to Jack Grimes for this info.)
